Mid-Continent Group, a part of Great American Insurance Group, consists of Mid-Continent Casualty Company, Mid-Continent Assurance Company, Oklahoma Surety Company, all admitted insurers, and Mid-Continent Excess & Surplus Insurance Company, a non-admitted insurer.

Mid-Continent Casualty Company was founded in 1956 through a merger of General Bonding and Mid-Continent Casualty. It was operated by the Inhofe family until sold in 1983 to an indirect subsidiary of American Financial Group.

Mid-Continent Group is operated today by an experienced and dedicated management team who has driven exceptional growth and profit. These results have been achieved by management’s strong product knowledge, niche-focused marketing efforts and adherence to disciplined underwriting and pricing standards.

Mid-Continent Assurance Company, Mid-Continent Excess & Surplus Insurance Company, and Oklahoma Surety Company, wholly owned subsidiaries of Mid-Continent Casualty Company, are utilized by management to provide flexibility in rate and product offerings. The 4 companies operate through an intercompany pooling agreement.

Mid-Continent Casualty Company does business through the Independent Insurance Agency system and has 575 agency locations in 33 states. It is primarily an underwriter of commercial casualty business with a focus on General Liability. In addition to General Liability, Mid- Continent Casualty Company writes Umbrella, Inland Marine, Commercial Auto, and Surety.

Mid-Continent Assurance Company is licensed in 9 states. It is an underwriter of commercial casualty business with a focus on General Liability and Auto.

Oklahoma Surety Company is licensed in 6 states. It is an underwriter of commercial casualty business with a focus on General Liability, Auto, and Surety.

Mid-Continent Excess & Surplus Insurance Company is licensed in 48 states. It is an underwriter of commercial casualty business with a focus on General Liability on a non-admitted basis.
